Tug-of-war

"The undiscovered awaits you, youngin,"

said a fossil.

But does such thing exist in a modern world?

Is there anything left to unravel?

"Everything's already been revealed,"

said the lad.

Who's right?

Perhaps, what's to be unearthed

is not seen heard

but felt, thought of.

Something of the metaphysical,

a philosophy, an answer to what seems to be

a never-ending chain of questions.

But also, perhaps, it's already in front of us

perhaps it's always been there

and we, as fools that do nothing

but oppose each other can't find,

can't witness the miracle

some supposition could bring.

So, who's right? Who's wrong?

Who'll believe? Who's deceived?

We might just never know.

Descendants of Ares, we could never know.
