The Masquerade of Things

The lover dies of heartbreak

The daredevil develops trauma

The warrior drops without a fight

The heathen resorts to karma

Songs lose their sound

Words lose their meaning

Talents lose their touch

after reaching a ceiling

The great mind said it's change

The healer said it's fate

But have you ever asked

if everything is just as they are,

just masked,

right from the start?

An arrow to the heel

or a pebble to the forehead.

Somehow something unveils

the truest colors of our tales.
