When you find yourself at a low point in life, you look for ways to get you back up. Desperate, no matter what form of motivation they may be, you take it. Why? Because it makes you feel good. You read the books, listen to podcasts, subscribe to gurus, and everything in between. All just to get that spark of inspiration after.

In many ways, this is good. Dopamine is good. But not every time. That good feeling of achievement after taking in words of wisdom is addicting. You crave for it more and more. You finish reading a book, you get inspired, so you buy another one,
and again, you feel inspired. It becomes a cycle, a toxic cycle. Do you see why? Because you're at risk of forgetting your main goal along the way: becoming better. You get motivation just for the sake of getting motivation. Nothing else. You get stuck in a loop of having a rush to do something without doing anything for real. You feel accomplished without having accomplished anything at all. It just becomes another form of procrastination. You get trapped in an illusion that you're fixing yourself when in reality, you're still stuck in the same hole you fell down on. The only difference is, you now have superficial positivity.
