She's always in love, or at least that's what's portrayed in her news feed

Always spontaneous about everything she does

The real-life Clementine, Jo March, Lizzy, and Celeste (she knows which one I'm referring to)

And sometimes I'd wish I was all the men these characters got together with, those guys in the end

Because she's always in love

with the men on her status updates

and I have never been one of them

Still, we had our story, a short one

On and off, but a story nonetheless

Unlike the tales of most of my favorite heroines, ours was a modern one

which started in text messages

turned video calls and eventually some meetups

In phone or in person, she was always herself

and she always belonged to someone else

It never bothered me though

because experiencing her presence was like watching my favorite slice of life films for the first time again

This may be why I never pursued her seriously

I'd hate to ruin a magnificent art piece

Though I confessed my love to her once

when she spoke her supposed last farewell

and it made her stay, at least for a while

Maybe I ghosted her, maybe she ghosted me

Maybe the story ended there, maybe it hasn't

I got no hopes and I got no regrets

I didn't hurt, and I believe she didn't as well

The reason as stated above

She has been always in love
