The moonlit pier was calling us that night

We had no choice but to go

Little did we know

We were entering a movie scene

Running toward a group of boulders

Arms wide open

Your phone captured key moments

My mind captured the rest

When we sat down and eventually laid

in the bedrock at the middle

Pointing at stars and clouds

And how they made the illusion

of how fast the sky was turning

But time was on our side today

As we marveled at how we got here

Like fictional characters enjoying

a peaceful denouement

There were flowers that should only be

in a quite meadow

but were there

beside the hissing sea

So you picked one to laminate

A perfect memento, I believe

For a perfect sequence we didn't expect

Then, we stood up

Before reality could spoil the moment

But we knew that even if it tried, it couldn't
