Stories shared underneath the shade of your balcony

while the rest of the world was still asleep

Dreams burst out in a quiet classroom

while the people outside made nonstop foot traffic

Smiles shone after each sentence, after each joke, after each glance

Poetries were exchanged as everyone filled up essays and banknotes

They were missing out, I thought, how sad

Now, I've joined the crowd

Walking past that old expanse

where your balcony used to be,
