A missing stone

Make a hobby, then another one

Pastime after pastime

You never rest

But it's still the same

You get nothing

No peace, no sound mind

No realizations in hindsight

No answers to questions

That spur mind battles at midnight

Where do I go?

The next step, what is it?

You once followed stepping stones

That stand in nothing

Like a floating staircase

It looked magical

So you skipped

Up and up

Happily

Carefree

Closed eyes

Guard down

And now,

You're falling

A stone was missing in the path

How come?

Suddenly, you're falling

No matter what you do

Gravity isn't a friend

You're expecting a crash

Anytime now

It'd hurt less if I know it's coming

Right?

I hope

That's the only thing I can hold onto

Hope
