The mistakes I cannot hide

Are like the sand on the beach

And the stars in the sky

Times two, if it could be multiplied

Enough to bury me six feet below

And push me seven steps behind

I’ve been carrying this heavy world of mine

Since I was nine,

Racing with ankle weights

And crossing the line

With my will unbent

To stand firm against the current

Being proud of the scars on my knee,

Proof that I was eager to be

The person you now see,

I’ll break the blue walls

To escape a labyrinth

Solving the problems without a hint

Even angst and agony

Can’t keep me down

When the troubles are overflowing,

I won’t just stand to drown

Yes, I am stubborn, yet still determined

A man who is dogged and resilient.
